Nov 2022. Piha Beach and Lion Rock were definitely fun to explore and photograph. The black sands of Piha Beach are unique to NZ. Lion Rock is also great to climb and take some really amazing photographs of the surrounding landscape. Unfortunately, you can't go entirely to the top of Lion Rock as the trail is closed for safety reasons.
